Yeaah!!!! Berlin´s Weekend club 15th floor turned into a sweatbox last Saturday when Sinden, DJ Beware and Haaksman rocked the house at the 2nd edition of the Man Recordings party series. Sinden dropped ass kicking bassline house, Beware brought all rumps to shake and Haaksman dropped new and upcoming Man Rec tracks. In the end drunk girls in frenzy were hitting so hard on the DJs they had to be thrown out by our lady bouncers….

„Edu K Me Bota Pra Dançar“ is the brand new track from Edu K, featuring Marina, Bonde Do Role’s former voice and front woman. It’s the first release by Marina after her split from one of 2007’s worldwide most hyped bands. A long time fan of Edu K and his pioneer work in the fusion of baile funk and punk rock, Marina sings a beautifully raunchy ode to her inspirator in one of her sexiest vocal perfomances ever.

Edu K was so impressed by Marina’s sexy vocal performance that he intentionally left out his own vocal contribution and provided the beats and sounds to Marina’s tune. „Edu K Me Bota Pra Dançar“ shows that Edu K has stepped up his producer game – heavy basslines, dopest beats and a club boasting arrangement marks the new „baile jack“ sound of Edu K, pushing the boundaries of Brazil’s hot new sound to the next level.

Crookers from Milan, Italy, who just remixed Chemical Brothers, Moby, Manu Chao and Bonde Do Rôle to name a few, heard Edu’s track and immediately offered to add some spice to this booty bouncing anthem. Their edit pushes „Edu K Me Bota Pra Dançar“ onto a Bmore inspired electro house tip. With an open highat, some bmore beats the Crookers edit condenses the track to an irresistible floor smasher. The instrumental and the acappella round up the EP for mixmeister purposes.

A true supergroup of DJs has teamed up for the release „Rio Baile Funk Breaks”, the world’s first ever battle vinyl exclusively dedicated to baile funk – the mad beats from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. This transnational DJ cooperation presents the best beats and elements, the most sampled voices, breaks and loops of baile funk’s rich musical history. The release contains moreover lock grooves and skipless beats, for the advanced turntablist, made entirely of original Rio funk material. This is the essential baile funk source material – the first and only one of it’s kind.

DJ Sandrinho is currently one of Rio de Janeiro’s hottest DJs. Playing the tough Rio favela circuit for more than a decade, he’s one of the top cats in the game, Djing for the likes of Mr. Catra, Menor Do Chapa, Deize Tigrona amongst others. In spring 2006 Sandrinho released the seminal first volume in the Baile Funk Masters series, and he remixed M.I.A., Bonde Do Role, Tag Team, Gotan Project and Edu K amongst others. In 2005, Sandrinho started to spin internationally, being one of the few Rio funk DJs regularly visiting Europe. On his side, DJ Sandrinho presents the trademark grooves of baile funk, spiced up with sounds and effects.

Berlin based Daniel Haaksman is the compiler of the genre defining compilations „Rio Baile Funk Favela Booty Beats 1+2″ on Essay Recordings, which introduced baile funk to the world. Daniel Haaksman is the label boss of Man Recordings and conceived both the acclaimed Funk Mundial and Baile Funk Masters series, and has helped the international career launch of artists like Edu K, MC Gringo or Deize Tigrona. As a DJ with almost twenty years of club experience Haaksman regularly spins across Europe as an ambassador of funk and other unclassifiable grooves. For „Rio Baile Funk Breaks” Haaksman opened his funk archives and provided many of the loops and sounds.

DJ Beware is Hongkong’s 3 times Technics DMC champion. This radio dj, remixer, and globe trotting party rocker is a dedicated fan of Rio de Janeiro’s mad beats. Currently based in Vienna, Beware hosts a daily mix show on acclaimed radio station FM4, where he is responsible for breaking much new music to daytime radio listeners. Beware came up with the idea of the baile funk battle vinyl record, and arranged Sandrinho’s and Haaksman’s material to be ready for the jam rocking business.
