NEW FUNK

What´s up with baile funk these days? In Rio, there´s a culture war going on. The new major is trying to shut down baile funk culture across the city, criminalizing any un-licensed party (err, the majority of them). On the other side, there´s the the Apafunk association (Associação Dos Profissionais E Amigos Do Funk ) who is in the process of establishing funk as an officially valorized and established form of Rio´s urban culture. In between, there´s the music, and here´s a few tracks that recently made the circuit in Rio´s bailes:

thanks, but if you’re giving it away for free, why not in good quality (for us dj’s)? let’s fight this low quality mp3 ipod culture, long live the ear!

well in rio the majority of tracks djs send out are 128kps mp3s, so we dont have them in any higher resolution
