We have been a long time fan of the productions of Hugo Douster . Perfectly fusing Jamaican digital rhythm science with international club heat, Douster has steadily released quality music ever since we put out one of his first internationally released tracks on Man Recordings (”Puta Que Pariu”) for #8 in our Funk Mundial series early 2009. At the time he was still located in Buenos Aires and aligned to the ZZK crew, today he´s based in Lyon, France and is releasing on Mad Decent and Sound Pellegrino amongst others, and regularly DJs around the world.

DOUSTER

After Schlachthofbronx put together #1 in the DJ Picks series, we figured to ask Douster for his selection. For DJ Picks #2 Douster choose a lot of original baile funk tracks by Rio De Janeiro artists such as DJ Edgar, Amazing Clay or DJ Sandrinho as well as international interpretations of baile funk by Feadz, DJ C or King Tutt, keeping an eye on the roots of our label´s sound. Some of the tracks have been steady guests in many DJs playlist but are still fresh, others deserve an appropriate DJ re-discovery.

It was -18 degrees Celcius outside and meters of snow on the streets of Berlin, yet the HEAT was on at Maria Club last Wednesday, when we staged our last Man Recordings party for 2010. Bert On Beats feat. Anbuley, Douster, Schlachthofbronx and Oliver $ let Berliners (+various Berlin tourists) forget about the ice age outside and enjoy tropical dancefloor temperatures. Many thanks to all of you who came down, big up for the artists for their dope sets. We also recorded the night on video, expect a full footage video to drop soon! P.S.
