As part of his “a mash-up a day project, João Brasil has mashed up the whole of the xx album, which you can find here. A bizarre result of this is his version of “basic amante” with MC Fl, which can only be described as “Funk lounge“. First DJ Cremoso and now J. Brasil, the xx album seems to attracting the attention of the most unlikely of remixers.
Home to major pop culture aggregating blogs Trabalho Sujo and Urbe amongst others, O Esquema.com.br is releasing the free download of the compilation O Violão. Previous releases by O esquema include João Brasil’s big forbidden dance, so I think it’s worth your clicks.
The compilation started out as a summer DJ remix compilation but then summer came and went and the idea of Dj mixes didn’t really gel, so what they did instead was to ask artist friends and comrades to supply acoustic versions of their own tracks and thus create a more cohesive collection with an autumnal feel.
Thus what we have here is a fine collection of names from the current Brazilian indie-mpb sei la que scene; friend of Man Recs, João Brasil, Céu, Kassin (from Moreno+2), Wado, Lucas Santtana, Curumin and so on. As I said before well worth your time.

Isabel Gonzalez Toro aka ISA GT is a DJ, MC, music producer and video director from Medellin, Colombia. Having chosen London as her base for the last few years Isa is known in the UK capital as resident of the infamous nights Girlcore and Musicalia, which she has taken around the world.
Man Recordings now proudly presents Isa GTs debut “Pa´Chikirri” EP. For the opener “Pela´o”, Isa takes us to an imaginary Colombian baile funk party, with hard hitting beats and tough raps that make any culo shake. “Pela´o” has been remixed in a banging ghetto tec version by Italian top dogs Crookers, as well as Rio De Janeiro´s tropical master João Brasil.
“Pa´Las Mamasitas” is a girl power song with a Cumbia influence. Lyrically, it´s on the lack of good guys in London. A radio and club friendly remix comes from Man Recordings boss Daniel Haaksman.
