Gee, this was a tough one! We received almost thirty remixes for our “Din Daa Daa” remix contest, and we got quite a few big remixes in our Dropbox. Naturally, about one forth of the contributions were Moombathon remixes, but then we also received a lot of housey reworks and a few pretty crazy ones. All in all it was great to get this great feedback, a big thank you to all remix contributors: Fed-Ant, O.live.R, HVK Remix, Hüpersonique, Laundrymix, Shantaram, DJ Smooch!, Gimmix, Sven S, Rootkitt, Nagumo, Ducks On Repeat, K.T.I.T., DJ Avatar, Hac Mac, Playground Bounce, Vidám, EJ Flores, Frederic De Varvalho, Hung Like A Horse, Chong X, Hush Hush Pony, Veit B , Keos Peet, Teazz, LA Yute and Technobears.

Some remixers immediately published their remixes which kind of spoilt the nomination procedure, nevertheless, after listening to the remix contributions all weekend, it was eventually clear who were the stand out remixers:

Boogaloo´s remix will be officially released on the “Rambazamba Remixed” compilation, out April 6th on Man Recordings!

My “Rambazamba” album will be released in a redone version in April as “Rambazamba Remixed” with remixes by Oliver $, Jan Driver, French Fries, Chrissy Murderbot, Big Dope P, Kry Wolf, El Dusty, Urbs and a handful other hot tickets.

To warm up for the “Rambazamba Remixed” release, we´re starting a remix contest today for which you can rework my version of “Din Daa Daa”, the seminal 1980s club tune by German drummer extraordinaire, George Kranz. The winning remix of the contest will be officially released on the “Rambazamba Remixed” release and will receive the “Rambazamba” double vinyl, CD and some Man Recordings extras .

The deadline for submissions is February 3rd 2012, that´s in two weeks from today.

Ayobaaaa! We are proud to present the winners in the “Ayoba” remix contest today. After receiving more than 100 contributions from all over the globe, we spent hours and hours going through our Soundcloud dropbox. We received a lot of halftime pounding dubstep and wobbel remixes (in fact, a bit too many), there were seriously far-out remixes (the heavy metal remix of Chernobyl, the “Schnitzel” dub remix of Jah Power), a lot of Kuduro inspired remixes (One Man Ben, Barney Iller) and some very well produced remixes (PPP Refix, BamR, DJ Alarm, DJ Densen). In the end, we had to make some tough decisions, there were more than a dozen really good remixes, but we had to cut them down to three. So here´s our nominees:

The winning remixes will be added to the “Ayoba Remix” EP after they´ve been mastered, expect them to be available end of March.

Thanks to everybody who has participated in the “Ayoba” remix contest. We received more than 70 (!) contributions from all over the planet, even pros like Tommie Sunshine from New York and Bonde Do Rôle producer DJ Chernobyl contributed their interpretation of the big Bavarian-South African tune. And from the first listenings we made it will be a tough one to choose the #1.

We are currently in the process of listening and evaluating all sent-in remixes, we´ll announce the winners next week. Until then, stay tuned to the blog – there´s a lot of hotness coming up!!
